10 Clothes That Will Instantly Make You Look Cheap, According To The Posh ‘Wealth’ Coach

It’s time for CONFESSIONS: we have lost count of the number of plain white T-shirts and ripped jeans that we have stored in our wardrobes at home.

However, the two key elements of our everyday uniform have actually made us look “cheap” this whole time according to an online “affluence” coach.

School of Affluence founder Anna Bey has shared a full list of her worst fashion pet peeves that she says are stopping us all from bagging a billionaire.

In the YouTube video 10 Things Stylish Women Never Wear, Anna claims that ripped jeans, t-shirts and sportswear instantly cheapen your entire look – and will keep us all out of “high society”. *sobs*

1. Sportswear

Wearing gym clothes when you’re not working out is one of the biggest fashion “mistakes” you can make, according to this fashion expert.

Whether you feel like running errands in a comfy pair of running leggings or just lounging around the house in your yoga outfit, Anna says, “They’re not there for everyday life.

“People have become so lazy. They don’t want to put on proper clothes, do their hair and look representable.

“No smart woman would wear sports clothes when not working out…” guilty as charged.

Instead, Anna recommends investing in a pair of “sleek and chic” black and white pants.

2. Bandage dress

Okay, they may have been all the rage in the 2000s – but bandage dresses are another fashion item that Anna says doesn’t make the cut.

“If she usually shows a lot of cleavage, a lot of leg,” she said. “It’s very figure-shaping and you just show it all off.”

The expert also claims that even wealthy women can’t adopt this look as it ‘diminishes her appearance’ and is a ‘big no no for anyone who really wants to be a real woman’.

3. Crop tops

We loved them when we rode and we still love them now – but this expert thinks crop tops are just ‘juvenile’.

“They are not elegant women,” she said. “It looks very cheap. People like to wear them like leggings or jeans. Nothing too fancy or fancy or rich, which is kind of why I don’t like it.”

She added: “Also, it tends to show a bit of skin, not necessarily in a flattering place for everyone.

“So it’s very important to stay away from the crop top if you want to look stylish.”

Hey, if it’s good enough for Bella Hadid, then it’s good enough for us.

Stylish items always wear that look “expensive”

  • Cashmere
  • Turtlenecks
  • Blazers
  • Silk dresses
  • Vests
  • Black pants
  • Buttoned blouses
  • Designer handbags
  • Scarves
  • Sun glasses
  • Beads
  • Diamonds

4. Cartoon prints

As if we weren’t already in crop top shock, Anna also says that “childish” prints are another subject to avoid.

Speaking to our Stranger Things and Star Wars t-shirt collection, Anna said: “All of these t-shirts look very boyish and they don’t make a woman look like a lady.

“I personally don’t find this type of clothing appealing at all. But hey, people are different and cultures are different too. Just accept being a woman because there’s a lot of fun too.” Are you okay, honey?

5. Tees

And just when we thought she was done badmouthing our entire wardrobe, Anna also ruled out T-shirts as “appropriate” everyday items. Eh?

“It’s not appropriate to wear a T-shirt in the office or when you’re out,” she explained.

“T-shirts are very laid-back, very casual wear. I would say maybe as home wear it can be fine, depending on the look of the t-shirt.”

Plus, Anna also claimed that t-shirts are only good when you’re “digging in the garden” or “moving out.”

She added: “If you want to be stylish, if you want to dress well and look good, get away from the mentality of jeans and t-shirts because it’s too casual, it’s not chic and that is NOT going to lift you up.”

We don’t know about you, but we’ll give this one a hard PASS.

6. Ripped Jeans

And now, for the real stab in our hearts: in Anna’s eyes, ripped jeans are a total fashion faux pas.

She moaned: “Whoever invented the fashion for ripped jeans… Question.” Why ?

“It’s not fancy. It looks cheesy. It looks cheap. It looks awful.”

Talk about a closet assassination.

However, the expert brought it back and added, “If that’s your style, fine. But personally, if you want to be sophisticated, ripped jeans don’t belong in that category.”

7. Denim shorts

It’s our summer staple, but even our beloved blue denim shorts weren’t safe from Anna’s list.

But if you really can’t bear to part with them, the “affluence” coach advises you to invest in a white pair to upgrade your look.

She said: “I think white in jeans always looks more sophisticated than denim blue.

“So if you can’t let go of your jeans, at least go white. It will definitely make your look more expensive.”

8. Beloved Handbags

Does anyone else still cling to the same black Topshop handbag they’ve worn since they were 16? Only U.S?

Well, according to Anna, our beloved accessories “belong in the graveyard.”

She said: “A bag for a woman is EVERYTHING.

“But if you have a bag that looks very shabby, no matter if it’s designer or how much it costs, it’s going to degrade your overall look.

“It won’t do you any favors even if it’s a designer bag. So let it go. Don’t wear bags that look shabby. Wear bags that look new or at least well maintained.

“Once they expire, life moves on to another bag.”

9. 90s fashion

This may be our favorite decade for fashion inspiration – but if you want to look stylish, it’s time to throw away your collection of 90s chokers and colorful tights.

“He doesn’t look rich, he doesn’t belong to high society even though it’s a very hot trend.”

10. Wrinkled clothes

Alright, so this one, we can at least relate to – even if we can never find the motivation to iron ourselves.

“Stylish women do NOT leave the house with wrinkled clothes,” Anna said. “Please tattoo this on your arm because I still see this happening often.

“I think people are just lazy and when you want to be sophisticated and stylish, you can’t afford to be any lazier. You really have to step up your game.”

The video was originally uploaded on August 18 and has been viewed almost two million times.

Although many users agree with Anna’s list, others have argued that stylish women can always change up their wardrobe.

One replied, “I would wear fancy pink dresses one day and the next I would wear ripped jeans. I love switching up my style!”

Another joked: “No one takes my Spongebob pajamas!!!”
