Covid-19 has a lot to answer. Yes, there are some obvious things that I won’t remind you of. But one thing that keeps cropping up is its impact on our love lives. While for some it stifled the possibility of vigorous encounters, for others it was a good reason to lay down with their lovers. That means you may have found yourself currently in possession of a stack of wedding invitations (even baby showers).
The other thing about Covid-19 and marriages is that for a long time, depending on where you lived, the two were largely incompatible. Now, with the easing of restrictions, it can feel like someone has popped the cork and all the celebrations on hold are rushing down the aisle in a violent stream of orchids, silk and champagne .
And so, as you find yourself staring at the barrel of one unavailable Saturday after another, we’re here to help with the inevitable question of what to wear. With fashion currently obsessed with bare-bones moments, it can be hard to find winter-appropriate outfits. From where I sit, we will either support our beloved on his wedding day by freezing our limbs, or wrap our lives within an inch of the diaper we can get our hands on. Neither will. And of course you can wear a costume. In fact, it’s just practical. But there are those of us who will come down screaming in a dress. So this list is for you.
Below we round up the best dresses for a winter wedding. Some will call it tights, others an accompanying jacket, all are good choices. Read on for our favorites.
