I get criticized for wearing crop tops to work, but men get away with t-shirts and shorts – that’s double standards

A WOMAN who has come under fire for wearing crop tops to the office has denounced the double standard surrounding workwear for men and women.

Nina took to TikTok to share a video in which she explained her issues, beginning, “Okay, I need people’s opinions because I could really be wrong about this.

“But if one guy, a lot of guys, if the guys in your office show up to work like that… T-shirts, shorts – not even necessarily jeans, could just be gym shorts, and like Crocs or sandals…

“Can I wear a crop top with a blazer over it? »

She then showed a photo of herself modeling a white crop top, high waisted pants and a cream blazer – with every bit of her midriff exposed.

Nina added that she understood that “technically” the man’s t-shirt and shorts did not show “skin or stomach”.

“But it’s still just as laid back,” she explained.

“It’s so laid back and away from the professional end of the spectrum that crop tops shouldn’t be a problem, right?”

Sharing the video on TikTok, she captioned it: “I get the ‘show skin’ argument but if the whole place is dressing unprofessional then who cares?”

And people were quick to weigh in on the debate in the comments section.

“You look so much more together and ready to work, that suits me,” one wrote.

“Not a problem as long as you’re comfortable,” added another.

“Girl I struggled with the same, all the guys wear cargo shorts etc and I feel weird wearing a literal tank top,” a third commented.

While someone else wrote: ‘YES of course as long as it’s professionally styled which is definitely in this picture!’
