The post comes after Sir Rod discussed Penny’s menopause journey on Loose Women.

The singer said he found the experience “scary” watching Penny change “from the person I married”, leaving him to research everything he could about menopause.

He said: “I Googled the menopause so much when she was going through it, she was in a fragile situation, I just had to listen and learn and prepare for pans to be thrown in the kitchen.

“It was scary, it wasn’t the person I married, she explained it through tears and we talked about it.”

Last year, Penny opened up about her experience of menopause, revealing that she first experienced symptoms during lockdown.

Penny admitted she had found the last few months very difficult because of her symptoms, but said her rocker husband and their two sons Alastair and Aiden, 10, had been very understanding.

Speaking from home, Penny told her co-stars, “Rod and I have a very close, intimate relationship that’s open about all kinds of things.”

‘I talk to her about how I feel before my period, a little depressed or sad or… I always say, ‘Honey, give me some space today, it’s that time of the month.’

She added: “I explained to them [my family] about the hormones I’ve been feeling since March, my last period.

“I had very hot sweats, then freezing cold… my body temperature fluctuates all over. It affects your mood swings, I gained more weight.

Penny then recalled a particularly difficult day, explaining: ‘I was in the kitchen, cooking dinner, it had been one of those days when everything went wrong and I had had enough. I ended up throwing dinner across the kitchen.
