A low heel is a versatile shoe that you can wear day or night without worrying about discomfort. “Pair them with classic bootleg jeans with a rolled hem or a wide, clean cuff to keep the look cool and current,” says Elisabeth Kosich, New York-based certified image stylist and founder of Elizabeth Kosich Styling. “If the low heels are slingback, wear them with a wool turtleneck and a pea coat for full coverage; if they’re closed heels, show some skin with a v-neck sweater and a blazer short.” These classic outfits can take you anywhere, from the office to a date.
The square-heeled boot is a must-have for fall and winter. You can wear them with all types of jeans, including skinny, straight and bootcut jeans. Andie Sobrato, personal stylist and image consultant, also suggests pairing them with flare jeans. “Because flares tend to trail on the ground, wearing a cute block heel bootie is a great way to build momentum and ensure the flare shines above the ground. Pair it with a striped turtleneck, pussy-bow blouse or blazer, we’re leaning into the ’70s but still looking classic and chic.”

Pumps look great with everything from dresses to jeans and all sorts of hemlines in between. “I love wearing my pumps with slightly cropped straight jeans,” says Sobrato. “The crop ensures we see enough of the foot and a bit of the ankle, keeping the look sleek and sexy.” In the summer, pair them with a fun going out top and a trendy bag. In winter, consider a black turtleneck. “Extra points if you layer a camel or fun colored overcoat – it’s a very classic winter look,” adds Sobrato.
There is nothing more exciting than a trendy shoe. Luckily, they can be paired with most jeans for a fun and flirty moment. “Boyfriend jeans and a trendy heel are the ultra-trendy pairs in this category,” says West Tara, a fashion designer who serves clients in Connecticut, Boston, New York and Los Angeles. “Get this super sleek and comfy look by rolling up the hem of your jeans with a chunky cuff and letting your heels steal the show.” A fitted turtleneck and cropped blazer complete the look.

Platform heels are all the rage and one of the easiest ways to wear them is with jeans. “I would wear baggy jeans with a pair of platform pumps and a basic white button-up shirt,” says Dawn Del Russo, editorial stylist and fashion expert. The look is fun on the bottom and professional on the top. Add a statement necklace or ring and you’re ready for girls’ night out.
